Guerciotti Identification and Value?

Hi everyone, I recently bought this Guerciotti road bike.

My google skills have failed to find another with that colour and the same sticker pattern.

Is anyone able to identify the model or year?

Can anyone estimate the value?

Some of the components are:

Rims - Super Champion Gentleman 81
Dérailleur - Suntour Superbe
Crank Arm - Super Mighty
Bottle Holder - ALE (made in italy)
Pedals - Ofmega
Handlebar - TTT Competizione/Mavic
Shift Levers - Patent Campagnolo
Brakes - Shimano 600/Dia Compe
Tyres - Continental
Pedal Clips - Christophe

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Never seen that decal pattern on all the Guerciottis I've ever seen, so it's either a rare model or a previous owner's re-paint/re-decal.....
The fork's definitely a Guerciottis fork with the G/star pantographs on the crown shoulders, but do you see something similar like a star cut out under the bottom bracket shell to relate it to the brand??

I just had a look and the star cut is there (photo attached)

The paint looks original as I can't find any faults in it.

I haven't seen another with the same decals after 2 days of research, would be greatful to anyone out there that can help me identify it!

Also, it's in very good condition but needs a clean after many years of storage.

Nailing down a model is going to be tough as these frames could be purchased "bare" and built to whatever spec the purchaser desired. Are there any markings on the rear brake bridge? Remove the seat post and shine a light down into the seat tube (towards the bottom)?. Is there rifling inside? How about a photo of the seat cluster, also.

As requested I've attached more photos for help with the identification.

No markings on rear brake bridge.

I've attached a photo of seat, is there rifling inside? I'm not too sure.

It looks to be the original colour given the inside of the frame also being blue?

If you can't identify it where would you rate it given the components from low to high end?

Also, I'm interested in how much it's worth to the right person? Interested to know if I've over-paid.

You misunderstood what I asked for on the seat tube, that is the tube that the seat post goes in. And I do not see a photo of the seat stay cluster. Is Guerciotti panto'd in the seat stay caps or maybe Paolo Guerciotti? I'm with Chombi in that I have never seen that style of markings. I did find photos of a 79 Guerciotti that had lug windows like yours at the head tube.

Just took more photos, are they the ones you are after?

There is nothing that I can see in the seat tube apart from what I'm guessing is the crank at the bottom? (photo attached)

If the seat stay caps are the ones in the photos then it only says Guerciotti.

It's definitely a Guerciotti frame but the model has me puzzled.

If you were to pick a model what would you think it is?

Are you to determine if the seat tube is *****d and SLX tubing? I highly doubt it since it has a clamp on front derailleur. The rifling I believe was to help with the rigidity of the new brazed on derailleur mount over a standard clamp on style.

Search Ray Dobbins Guerciotti and I think you will find a frame match. Ray's is a 79 and I would say yours is in that time period. Could be as late as 82. The year eliminates SLX. It is likely made of SL and I am guessing the seat tube is pinched causing the use of a 27.0 vs a 27.2 post. Reading through an old thread I started a few years back, I find that the Guerciotti Jet was offered in Lapis Blue. So that may be your answer. But again I have never seen those markings.

EDIT: Read the old thread yet again and saw that one poster said the 27.0 seat post was indicative of SP tubing for the seat tube.

Ok, how does SL tubing rate when comparing to the rest?

Is it low/mid/high end?

I don't have the slightest idea when talking about these old Italian bikes.

I agree with the others that it is SL/SP (same thing for different size frames). Very nice frame with killer components.

Thanks everyone!

I live in Australia so the decals may have been changed when imported but I doubt it.

I agree the decals might not be original but IMO look better than the originals that might have been on there before.

I just gave it a good clean and I must say it rides better than anything else I've ridden!

These are very sought after in Australia as I've never seen one and most people wouldn't believe how little I paid for it.

Makes my other road bikes look very boring.

I think you guys are barking up the wring tree on the SLX thing. I think this frame is too old for SLX to have been around. Also if the seatpost is 27.0 did SLX come in that diameter?

Nice looking bike.
