Raleigh Esprit
Hi all,
I've had an old 80's Raleigh Esprit for a few years now and finally need to address some issues with the bike. And seeing as I'm a total novice, I've come on here to ask for some assistance/advice.
Firstly, I'm looking to replace both front and back brakes as both caliper springs have packed it in and cause the blocks to rub against the tire. The caliper brakes I have on the bike seem to be 570's. What would be the ideal replacements for these if I can't acquire another set?
Also, the cassette is too tight to the frame, leaving me unable to use the highest gear as the chain can't fit and gets jammed. Is there a fix for this or would this mean getting a different cassette that fits?
Thanks in advance.

This Tektro company makes all sorts of inexpensive brakes & shifters:
Tektro 800A Sidepull Brake Set - Modern Bike
Do you know if it's a freewheel or cassette on the back? How many cogs? If it's 7 speed or less it's probably a threaded on freewheel. SunRace makes affordable replacements.
I wouldn't spend too much on parts for an Esprit. Niagra Cycle, ebay, & Amazon are all good sources of inexpensive replacement parts. Good luck & have fun.
