Miyata 310

Hi Folks,

I'm still searching around for a decent and reasonable road bike in the greater bay area--primarily for commuting and maybe riding around for fun a bit. I'm hoping to get some thoughts on this bike: MIYATA ROAD BIKE-VINTAGE-COMMUTER-RACE-50CM-18 SPEEDS

Any help is welcome

I'm not familiar with pricing in the area, but it looks in very good shape with nice upgrades. Its a very small frame. Will it fit you?

Sized for a rider shorter than 5'4". Trying to sell for San Francisco's high prices, but more than 2 hours away. Same reason the real estate is so much less in Stockton. The fork looks bent at the steering tube. Rims don't match, cables lack cable ends, clean but not polished.

If the fork is not tweaked, low $200s. If the fork is tweaked, keep looking.

I don't think you'll find a nice Miyata 310/312 around here for under $300 but this one has been frankensteined; a 9 speed rear hub and mountain bike derailleur? I bet that shifting is something special, especially cross chaining. The stance of the fork doesn't look just right from the pictures. So if it was local and I could really give it a hard test ride and inspection, OK, but driving out to Stockton for bike that's been put together from different bits...no. If you really know bikes and how to fix someone else's problems, that's one thing; ...but a no hassle bike - I very much doubt it.
