Campy Ti Quill Pedals

Sorry for not having pics right now.

I've been trying to establish the price range for a set of Campy Ti Quill Pedals that are approximately 25+ years old. I consider them to be in excellent to very good condition. I've added new Caps and Toe Clips. I've seen them for sale on the 'bay but don't see many buyers at the prices being asked.

With that said, I bought these used a long long time ago. At that time I was told (and researched) the fact that they were Ti spindles. But, over time I've forgotten how to identify them. I would like to know so that when I put them up for sale I can have my description as accurate as possible.

Thanks,
TMT

Magnet to the spindle. It's either steel or titanium, the latter will not attract a magnet.

Yes.
No matter if they are Superleggero or Super Record, condition is almost everything.
New dust caps need to be by Campagnolo for the big dollars.
Cages need to show as little wear as possible, no cleat erosion.
Outer cage and bodies should be scratch free.
Forget the toe clips for the most part unless they have Binda straps in very good to great shape also.
Potential buyer's feet may not be the correct size for the clips installed.

Also, titanium has quite a different look than other metals. Look closely at all your chrome plated Campy parts, if you have any.
Look at the spindles. Should look silvery and slightly grayish compared with chromed steel. Not highly reflective, etc.

More closer to a brushed nickel look, than grey, it is quite "warm" in color, not cool almost mirror like chrome.
Amazing how many sets of Super Record pedals on offer in the eBay site are not.

Yeah. Brushed nickel is a good comparison.

I have confirmed they are Ti. I'll try and get some pics up in the next couple of days. Any idea of a price range (without pics). I don't need them and if they'll fetch enough for a new seatpost and stem... they'll be on the chopping block.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

go to the e Bay site, search for Campagnolo Super Record Titanium pedals, then before you get all excited about the asking prices check the "sold listings" checkbox on the left-hand side of the page and you'll get an idea of what you can realistically ask for them. Throw out the highest price if you want to sell them quickly. Likely you will still get enough to buy a halfway decent seatpost and stem, if you aren't shooting for uber-rare collectible items. Good luck!

I'm not expecting to get rich. I've had them sitting around for so long it's about time they go.

Condition of the cages and amount of use will really affect the price achieved. Rough guess, a hundred bucks. In minty condition, more than that. Perhaps double.
