Puch Marco Polo - reynolds 531- Suntour Cyclone - Normandy hubs etc.

Hello, I recently picked up a Puch (first Puch I have had my hands on) and am impressed, rides very well and is quite light. It is far too small for me unfortunately so she must be moved along. Anybody have any experience with these bikes? I am guessing the value to be be around 300 or so in my area (socal), sound about right? Bike has been completely torn down to the frame, cleaned and serviced with everything dialed in and working great. Pics for now only consist of "before" shots. (of course the photo of the whole bike is too large to upload..sorry)

In Atlanta (so you know my basis), this would be, at max, a $100 bike. Unfortunately, for this type of bike, most people do not care about the tubing...they would look at the decal damage, the rust on the handlebars...and that RUSTY chain...and...go...uh, no...then...no brake pads? I started typing this as a 200 bike...but kept looking at the pictures...and it is not there...sorry...

If you've refurbished the bike, then those are the photos you should link to, not the before shots. Also, the suicide shifters are probably not original, they should be on the downtube.

But its been completely rebuilt and those pics are the before ones.

I would hope at least $150, given its been fully cleaned and serviced. That is a floor around me for bikes with cromo main tubes and better frame(and the typical component level), so you can get at least that as long as the paint is good.

Man, rough crowd. Marco Polo is a nice one. 531 frame, Normandy luxe Comp hubs, great paint job.

In SoCal, I could see it going $250. Fixed up nice, with that paint, $300 asking price is not unreasonable.

I don't disagree, but all there is to go on is pictures of a dirty bike and comments that refurbished work(which is basically internal) has been done. Assuming the cosmetics are good, I would expect it to sell for more, but finished pics weren't provided.

So a dirty bicycle with rust and new grease in all the right places is what I went on.

As presented in the photo's around $125 nicely refurbished with new consumables ready to ride with good cosmetics around $200-250 with the turkey levers, stem shifter's and Puch label your not going to get a 531 premium. On vintage bike that is basically just a nice rider your not going to get much more even SOCAl.

Around here it would be about $100 as pictured.

If you overhauled it, let's see those pictures for a proper valuation...

The front derailleur is Cyclone, but the rear is a VGT Luxe; a good derailleur, but no Cyclone.

Here are some after photos, I finished the bike last night and couldn't get anything decent at the time. Like I said, bike was torn down, everything cleaned / polished and reassembled. (chain is off a bike i parted out, it will get a new one I just wanted to ride the bike today).

Besides the fork's paint, that cleaned up real well! The red headtube with the classic PUCH headbadge is a really cool offset to the black frame.

Decent cleanup, need to trim rear cable housing and add cable end caps. I would also spray the fork if it is black.

if you're near SF, SJ, LA, I would ask $299 and lower $25 every 2 weeks. If not near those high demand areas, start at $250.

The early pics didn't show some of the bikes best selling points mainly the small frame size and female friendly geomtry which add a $50-75 premium in better markets so I would say $300 is doable with the nice cleanup and cosmetics.
