1947 Westfield

I was looking on craigslist to buy a bicycle and noticed a 1947 Westfield all original. The guy is asking $475 for it. I was wondering if it was worth it or not? The bike is all original. Here are some pictures of it

In my opinion that's not to terrible of a price for a tank bike if you plan on keeping it. No money to be made for a flip.

Was a post-WWII single speed coaster brake traditional American wide tire bike the type of machine that you were looking to buy?
The type (I know nothing of the Westerfield brand despite being elderly) are certainly a part of American bicycle history but is riding this machine your intention, or something else?

Worth/Value is what one is willing to pay.

Westfield Manufacturing Company was a leader in the bicycle industry. Many of the bicycles sold by the Sears Roebuck and Co. were manufactured by Westfield (although not exclusively). Sears bicycles such as the famous 1935-8 Elgin Bluebird were made by Westfield. So was the 1934-36 Elgin Blackhawk and Falcon among many others. Columbia was the in-house brand name for the Westfield Manufacturing Company......
