As a seller what is your pricing, below that it would be a discount.
As a buyer what is your price threshold, above it would be a premium.

This one is tough, and is sure to be a better deal for the buyer. I'm biased, I have a BMZ Palo Alto and I know just how nice it is. It also depends on tje selling forum. I would say as a buyer on CL, I'd probably be looking to spend $400? On ebay...maybe 550 ish? As a selder I'd try for $500-600 on CL. Inthink on ebay it has to be parted out.

Thanks a bunch Aaron.
That Nashville Palo Alta for sale has been listed on CL at $300.00 for over a month. When looking at the last sale of a PA on OldRoads.com it's $285.00, so it waits on CL. The Nashville one is to tall for me. I got your enthusiasm for the PA, BMZ when you posted the other day.
This Performance Campione BMZ looks like a better fit, but it's listed at 1K on CL. So the hunt continues...

1K - yikes. I owned a BMZ Palo Alto. For me the handling was on the wrong side of 1985. Per the PA catalog it was designed to run 27" or 700c tires, so maybe that was part of the problem. I'm thinking $400-ish.

I don't understand why the Nashville one is available, even knowing it's hardly chicago/philadelphia. I know I think that bike is quite nice (and I think the performance above is quite nice). I really don't know how much old roads does, or doesn't, reflect standard values.
1k is unlikely to happen IMO. Pinarellos have a tough time selling at that on my CL.
I'd send him an email like "Hey there, I love the bike. I'd like to offer more, but $400 is the best I can do right now. I know it's less than your asking price, but it's what I can afford. If for any reason you find yourself able to take the offer, let me know. I promise to appreciate the bike."
You'd be surprised how often it works.
He likely can get 1000 parted out on ebay.

Aaron thanks again for your generous insights, much appreciated.
You could say I'm following your instructions precisely. I'm taking a run, not a walk or skip at a certain black Paramount.
We'll see if this transaction can get the wrinkles ironed out and go through.

I'm a little late to the peloton, but I am a current caretaker of a Biemmezeta/Performance Campione and it has the most acceleration of any of my vintage bikes including the Colnago Master, Pinarello Treviso, Ciocc Designer and Lejeune CdM. The subject steed appears to be full Campy and may well garner the asking price. Seems like the full Campy Italia sellers just don't want to take less than a grand. The Palo Alto/Campione/Biemmezeta bicycle flies under the radar to most looking for vintage steel. If you see one, grab it, they're amazing.
