Sad day, I need to sell my somec frame with original superbe pro
I don't want to sell it but I'm forced to do it. I'm thinking of putting it on ebay starting from 0. Is this a good idea? I 've never sold any bike on ebay, bad experiences?
This bike was sold in 88-89 under Knut Knudsen's name (fisrt norwegian professional cyclist). Frames were somec pantographed with Somec/ knut knudsen (columbus slx)
My bike has a original full superbe pro (only seapost is record), original almarc leather... only hoods need to be changed.
The bike looks like new, with very few paint chips (touch up paint) and an small area were the chrome is gone. How much should I expect to get?
I will try to upload som pics.

I personally would not start at zero, even if you have to sell. Ebay/paypal fees total 13% of sale if you have no sale experience people may not bid, but hard to find that kind of exposure anywhere else. It will need to be professionally packed and shipped which adds to hassle but only way to get said exposure. Bike sales tend to drop off in winter and prices often drift lower, if possible spring or early summer is best selling season generally. No idea on value but sounds like a nice ride.
Parting the superbe stuff separately will probably bring the most money, but once you go to the dark side you may not come back!

You could also think about selling the bike via this website. You'll have to join to become a full member but that's cheap. You won't get top dollar here but you can ask for a fair price and probably get it. At least here you won't deal with a lot of the hassles you get on eBay. Also you will probably need to part it out. The superbe stuff is worth some money.

I think many European sellers on eBay part bikes out to try to avoid the high cost of international shipping. That would be a shame, but I'd love to get my hands on that Superbe Pro.

That is a very pretty bike. I understand the need to sell it but keep one thing in mind. The shipping charges are cheap compared to the cost of a bike or the value of this bike. If you plan on riding, you may want to think about keeping it.
But there is clearly a market for the frame and the parts.

Keep the bike till spring if you must sell. Borrow money, rates are the lowest in a century or so.
Nice looking bike.

Thank you guys. This fram is 55 and 7 speed (superbe pro ultra narrow).
I will wait until spring... and then sell my wife hehehe
I'm sure I will regret selling this bike but I promised her.
