Falcon Ernie Clements, Campagnolo
The bike looks like this one, found on internet:
Campagnolo equipped, Weinmann brakes, same fork and bars, Brooks saddle.
The condition of the frame is nice (not mint like the picture), needs work with new cables, tires, cleaning.
The seller is asking 295$. is it a fair price?

...very fair price, actually here in Northern California it would be pretty lowball. That's a Falcon San Remo, in the preferred sky blue color and appears to be in decent paint condition. I paid over twice that for mine, and it was a project bike for me.

it should be a Reynolds tubing, right?
what about the wheels? should be with tubeless tires?

...Reynolds 531DB. they originally came with tubulars.........but without looking at it, it's hard to tell what's on it now. The rest of the original equipment was pretty much what you describe.

That is a very fair price it could actually be great price depending on the specific parts and wheels. It won't last long at this price so if you want it I would go look at it quickly.

As stated earlier , its a San Remo , nice bike and worth the asking price in my opinion . I'm thinking early 70s , not sure about Falcon serial numbers, though .

Got it, after 3 months.

The front wheel, even has Campagnolo hub it is a clincher, not in the picture.

That is the blue of the Falcon racing team. Consequently, it is most likely a Model 76. The difference in components may be explained by the fact that these were also sold as framesets. I see what appears to patent 72 stamped on the rear derailleur which would normally make the bicycle 1972 or 1973, however, if those are components from a donor bicycle(s) the frame could be later. Personally, I seem to recall the double white seat tube banding be more mid-1970s. You may also want to check the date codes on the back of the crankarms and inside face of the hub locknuts.

I checked the parts.
The rear derailleur is marked 72 and the crank arms 170 strada
The front wheel is a tubular too. I was tricked by the tire.
