Miyata Seven Ten = Sell frameset or build up with various parts 2 sell it?
Since I'm getting a Columbus SL MIELE frameset adapted to use my vintage Dura Ace AX groupset on, I no longer need the Miyata Seven Ten frameset I have. Therefore I'm going to sell it.
In your opinion, would I likely get more if I sold it as a bare frameset or if I built it up with various components i have?
I have a black FSA 52-42-30 crankset (square taper cup and cone or cartridge compatible), a pair of black Royal Gran Comp Dia-Compe brake calipers, some old school Campy brake levers with over the bar cable routing. I have a 1980s Athena rear mech and an unidentified Campy front mech. I also have an old school black Shimano 105 rear mech and a silver 105 front mech. The wheels I'd use on the build are tubular rims on Miche hubs with an 8 speed cluster.
What do you people think? Sell as parts and frameset separately or together?
What would be a fair asking price for the bare framset in good condition?
Thanks and cheers

I would sell the frame...why put the effort into a build? Unless doing it for fun as well. Also, agree with Bill...Frankenbike? No...
Also...shipping a frame is much easier than a bike, so that opens up eBay for selling in addition to CL.
On this type of bike, I do not see a huge difference in price either...

I would accept some SunTour barcons on an otherwise Shimano bike. Something like that where the odd component is a really quality one.
But Campy with Shimano?...unless its to do that modern 10speed/8speed works together trick, no thanks to that.
Sell the frame and keep the components. As a buyer, the value of a frame is all in the condition. Chips, scratches, rust, dents, etc all drop the value in my eye. If perfect, maybe $170? If beat up, maybe $50? I could see it needing to sit for a bit at $170, but maybe someone really wants a Miyata in their size and has a ton of favorite components already.

Your advice was much appreciated, duly noted and will be acted upon. I'll sell the frameset separately from that mish-mash of components.
Cheers
