I suspect this is not a Schwinn Paramount Volare

https://sanantonio.craigslist.org/bik/5427885127.html

Seeing as the Volare was only made in 77 and 78 and only came in orange and red, this can't be a volare. Besides, it has stamped steel dropouts, no chrome on the back half, no Dura Ace, and the Volare decal is too far down the tube. However there is a Paramount headtube badge, which could be swapped from a different bike. So what is it?

Schwinn also makes an inexpensive bike called a Volare. Perhaps this is an older version.

It's not a Paramount and it's not a Volare. I've no idea what it is, but it looks like the seller is trying to pull a fast one.

I'd pass just on the basis of the obvious attempt to pass it off as something it's not and the premium asking price.

Looks more like a re-stickered Le Tour.

I agree , it looks like a cheap frame somebody gussied up with better components and assembled into a bike.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

Parts-bin build, mismatched screws holding on a headtube badge desperately trying to flee this immaculate deception. $500? I'll take three if I can pay with the CL guy's wallet.
Sad thing is the guy might actually fool somebody...

Scumbag seller couldn't even bother to attach the (wrong) Paramount headbadge correctly. Pass.

I wasn't interested purchasing it. Just trying to figure out the mystery.
