Giant Cadex 960 (estimate '92)

Hi guys,
I have a Giant Cadex to sell, and no clue what might be a fair price. I don't know much of the history of the bike; I bought it used off Craigslist. It appeared to be in generally good condition, but the consumables were a little ratty. I replace tires, tubes, cable, and bar tape. The bike is generally in very good condition now. I tried to put it back together as close as possible to the photo in the Giant Catalog, so the red bar tape and white brake hoods , while not original, at least look right.

The most obvious defect (to my eye) are the rims. The front one is a Mavic MA-2 in bright aluminum. The rear is a Mavic MA 40 in a dark grey anodized finish. Both rims are eyeletted, and appear to have the same profile. Tires are Serfa RS, with red stripes.

The gruppo is Shimano 105 with indexed downtube shifters, and they work very well. The brake calipers and levers are also Shimano 105, and I might replace the shoes on general principals.

Altogether, the bike is very clean, with no serious defects except for some minor problems with the lacquer on the front forks. That will clean up, but I don't want to mess up the decals that are there.

I'm familiar with the problems some of these bikes had with the bonding of the buges and lugs, but there appears to be none of that on this one.

I'd appreciate your opinonsof value. I need room in my garage, so I have this and a couple others to unload.

Nice looking bike. My recommendation is to look at values for the similar Specializes Allez and Epic bikes that have sold. I think Trek had a version as well.

Gut tells me $200-$250 but I'm sure someone here can dial it in closer.

I think Plonz's estimate is light by $50, $300 +/- 10%. That's a sharp and clean looker. I sold a lowly and heavy Giant Perigree for $250 completely refurbished, but not as sharp looking as your Cadex.

Your biggest marketing issue is your remote location in the desert.
