How did I do? Raleigh Super Grand Prix
Hi all,
How did I do with this purchase? I got it for $75.00 CAD today and it is all original parts according to the seller. The frame is a Tange 5 frame and has quite a bit of rust on it. What's the best way to shine the frame and remove any rust off the aluminum parts.

I didn't even know there was a Tange 5! You did OK, that's about what it's worth. These were on the lower end of Raleigh's lineup, and it needs some love.

I didn't notice before but the tires look almost new. That makes the price a pretty good bargain! Saves you $40-$60.

The tires are fairly new, but I do notice a bit of cracking on the rubber.

That's a fairly good price for a road bike in good working condition. This one is a lower end model from the mid 80's has a mix of somewhat nice and lesser components. Fairly nice crank set and shifter's but cheaper steel wheels which likely aren't original they look to be a generation older than the bike. So while a good price I wouldn't have paid much more for it.
