Universal Levers & Calipers - Pretty Darn Old...
Time to start selling off some of the more unusual stuff that I have tucked away. With that in mind, I would like to know what model and vintage these old Universal levers and calipers are and what value I should assign to them when I offer them for sale...
I should add that I have a set of original brake pads and holders for them, and in pretty good shape.

Maybe a model 68 or earlier? I think from the late 70's to very early 80's?
The levers, if original to the calipers, do give away that it's one of their older models that used the flat top shaped hoods. The compact dimensions of the calipers (pivot bolt to brake pad distance) do hint that these were meant for sport/racing frames which can give them a bit more value, than "ordinary", "cooking" brakesets. Otherwise, in used, VGC, but without hoods, I'd maybe pay a max of 60 bucks (mostly because they look quite rudimentary in design)........If I needed it bad for a project. If you get the new hoods to go with them, you should be able to bump up your asking price (by close to the price of the new hoods) and sell them much quicker.

Absolute latest could be early '60's.

My set is identical to this Universal Model 39 set that just sold on Ebay for close to $400.00 with eleven bids. Looks like someone really wanted the levers and the calipers went for over a hundred in another auction. Anyway, just interested. Perhaps I will give Ebay a try again, and see what happens.
My levers have the same numbers stamped into them(this is the Ebay pic)...

Universal Sport calipers from the 1950s. They're similar to the Model 39 calipers but don't have the "Brev" or " Brev 361666" stamping.
