Bikes I have found and have decided to sell, what are they worth?
I do a lot of yard sailing, like to pick up collectables to add to my household. Over the years, I came across some deals on bikes I could not pass up. The first is a $25.00 Bianchi. I probably got it five years ago, never really doing anything with it, never even rode it. Now I'm trying to free up some space around my house, as things are kinda out of control. So, I'm looking into the value of this bike. It's probably a mid 1980's bike, Bianchi Special Columbus. Shimano 600 gear. The condition is like new, it looks like the bike was never ridden. There is some deterioration of the stuff the atmosphere gets to, but it does not look like it was ever left outside.
The second is a recumbant, this I think is one of the first ever built recumbants.
The third is a real old folding bike.
I'm not into bikes, as much as I'm into Ebikes (7 so far) and Mopeds (22), as I would keep them because I like collecting old cool things. Although the recumbant is really cool and unusual.
I'm going to figure out how to attach a picture of the Bianchi as that is the first one I will sell.

Condition is everything deronmoped. If the Bianchi isn't all scratched up with rusty spots & everything works - wheels spin true then, you could get $200 or more for it.

I would almost consider this bike NOS, it almost looks like no one ever rode the bike. The seat is perfect, the paint is almost perfect, the tires show no wear...

The Bianchi looks pretty decent. You could probably get somewhere between $250 - $350 for it as is.

incazzare.
It looks better than pretty decent to me, it looks almost new. I think it's probably more like a $400 bike. It's worth more than $200, anyway.

Does that say 'Limited' on the top tube by the handle bars? I think $350 is a good value.

I had that exact model Bianchi go through my hands and it also was barely ridden. The owner kept it in a closet. Your bike is missing part of a brake hood which can be had easily for cheap. I really like the Mavic Module E rims and the bar tape was pretty cool although very thin.
Your market location will influence the price. I re-greased the bearings, new brake and shift cables and sold it in SoCal for $350 in March 2011.

Yeah, it says "Limited", it also says "Eldorado".
The dimensions are: Crank center to seat post 22 1/2", seat post to goose neck 22" and ground to top tube 32 1/2".
I'm surprised on the low values of these bikes. When a cheap new Bianchi approaches $1,000.00 and a high end one can cost $5,000.00. I mean, is there no collector or nostalgia value to the bike, or are people looking for a high end bike to ride at "Walmart" prices. Heck, I just might find a place to hang it from, it's more art to me then transportation. It would seem to be a waste to me to put this bike back out on the road, only to used up.

Well, it's like having a 65' Mustang or a 75' Mustang. Which is more collectable?

I would say that taking a $25 bike and selling it for $250 or so is a pretty good return on your investment. The waste would be in just letting it continue to sit.

That would be a pretty could ROI. If it was Celeste and had Campagnolo bits it could bring more $$. It isn't and it doesn't.

In my market (Atlanta), this would easily do the $250...much higher and it would need to be a better bike (as someone stated, Celeste and/or Campy)...

If I keep it, it will go up on the wall in my moped museum, as a work of art. Much cheaper then a painting.
