What is this Schwinn worth?

Looking at possibly picking this up, but I know the price is steep given the condition. What would you offer, or would you even offer at all?

He's priced so high, I'd just walk on and forget about it. Any REASONABLE offer is going to come as an insult.

Ashtabula 1 piece crank put's it in the 1970s. So well cared for it hasn't had a penny invested in it since new.

Only $200 > FMV.

That appears to be a 1976 Traveler with a small 21" frame in Sky Blue. Assuming it fits I'd say it's worth around $50 to $100.

Seller's idea of Excellent Condition, and mine, are far apart.

If you weren't so far away, I'd give you one. They don't get much respect because of weight. On the other hand, they are easy to find parts for.

If you're going to ask for twice what it's worth, you should at least clean up the bar tape.

The value of these old Schwinn's are in the memories they help to bring back.

But we can all recapture those old memories just as easily looking at pictures, telling old stories, just thinking about those old bikes. Or we can relive those old memories my favorite way.... going for a bike ride. Even on a new bike... I can relive my childhood bike rides.

But... I do keep an old steel bike or two around anyway.

$100 if in mint condition. I use to own one, bought it new to be used as a beater bike getting ocean surf and sand all over it for years, took it to college so it would get stolen, that's how much I thought of that bike! I didn't treat my other bike like that which I had at the same time as that one.

People slap the word VINTAGE on a bike and think some nut job will buy it for a lot of money, and sometimes they're right!
