Tsunoda Granlotus???

Anyone know anything about the Tsunoda Granlotus Camping? I've never seen it on any of the lists of US-issued Tsunoda bikes.

As much as i love Japanese steel, $400 seems way high for something in that shape unless it's somehow magnificent, but I'm curious.

Also, does anyone know what the point of geometries that have top tubes extending back behind the seat tubes?

Thanks!

I don't know anything about it, but that looks like a great frame. There is the "Make Offer" option. I've wondered about this seller, because they have some great stuff, but worry about the Thailand origin. Feedback is all good, though.

Tsunoda was the manufacturer of most of the Lotus models during the early 1980s and they did everything from entry level up to professional racing models. This has a lot of nice grand touring amenities,: cantilever studs, internal wiring harness, spoke holder, rack eyelets and generator tab. It may even have lo-rider mounts, but it's hard to say for sure. The decal remnants on the top tube appear to be for a CrMo frame. The use of Hellenic stays is also quite rare for a touring bicycle. On the down side, it's has a budget, steel headset and only one set of bottle bosses.

Unfortunately, it's a foreign model, so I have no particulars on it, My overall impression is mid-1980s. Personally, at $400 plus $150 shipping, I'd pass.

Would a agree it's a nice grand touring model but the price seems on the high side for a Japanese produced frame set with unknown tubing and just OK paint. I would think $250-300 including shipping is about the most this frame set is worth. At close to $600 your really in the ballpark of what a complete Japanese built touring bike of this level would sell for in most markets.
