Centurion lemans mixte
Hi everyone,
New to the forum and tried using search but i thought you dont mind if i ask in a different thread. Because i dont know much about bikes and what i know i just googled so its a bit confusing. I got muself an old bike. Its centurion lemans mixte. Its in a very good condition, seems to have most of the original parts and rides well. But id like to know when it was made (maybe late 70s?) and is this bike worth anything?
ive read they have serial numbers with the date it was made, but i cant find any.

She's a beauty! Looks like a 3 speed.
Centurion is an american marketing company that distributed bikes made overseas in the 80s - I believe they became Diamondback.
They are generally well thought of. I believe yours is an earlier model (judging from the headbadge) - others will weigh in on the specifics of the model.
Can you post pictures of the other side of the bike, showing the crank and rear gearing - sometimes that helps date the bike and model.

It looks like a complete bike. With all it's original parts. Try to get $200 for it. But, don't go lower than $100.

I would agree on the age being from 78 and originaly a super or deluxe mixte 10 speed that has been converted. If it was a Japanes 3 speed originally from this era it would have a different crank, stem bars and a chainguard. As a better quality mixte with a chr-mo frame nicely setup as a 3 speed commuter with fenders and rack I think you should be able to get $200-225 in most markets.

thank you everyone for the replies ill look for the serial number from the seat tube as suggested. at the moment im not selling, im planning to enjoy it at least for a while i asked about the price because i paid 24usd for it (bought it from Norway) but i had to invest around 100 more, for the overall maintanance and new tires. but i guess it was still a good deal

The Centurion brand in the USA was owned by Western States Import Co.(WSI) of Van Nuys, California. WSI also owned the Diamondback brand name for their BMX and mountain bikes.
I have read that WSI did not own the Centurion brand in other parts of the world. For this reason they switched the branding or their road bikes to Diamondback.

It was a European Centurion model LeMans Mixte.
