Specialized Rockhopper V.s specialized Crossroads

Hello I am about to purchase a bike from kijiji and I've been doing some research on vintage bikes. I'm no where near an expert so I was hoping to get some help on making a decision between the specialized rock hopper mountain bike and the specialized crossroads hybrid.

They are both being offered for the same price and they look like they were made around the same year. Some help would be greatly appreciated. It won't let me post some pictures until I get to 10 posts.

If you never intend to ride on anything but asphalt or concrete, I'd get the hybrid.

If on occasion, you want to ride on gravel, grass, or dirt, I'd get the Rockhopper.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!
