1937 Monark Silver King "Wingbar"
I posted another link just trying to find out what model it was and got a lot of good responses. I know family history doesn't add to the value, but I'm the third owner. Originally bought by my great grandfather, then his son, my great uncle, and now me. It has been sitting in my basement for 10 years and now someone else should enjoy it because I'll never ride it. I have no idea what it's worth. A few people suggested $2500 as a good start.

Apparently the stem, bars and the seat are different. I'm guessing they were changed out of need! A 71 year old seat probably wouldn't hold up too well. This is how I got it though, I haven't done anything to it. The pureists are quick to say what's wrong with it of course, but a bike wasn't made to be a museum piece, it was meant to be rode. If a bike today from back then is original and untouched, I'm guessing that kid/owner had a very sad and lonely life!

Nice looking bike. I would offer it to another family member. However, $250.00 is a little high. I would think $200.00 is about right.

The aluminum Monark Silver Kings have a cult following, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if you manage to get $2500.00 for it. The economy has everybody tightening their purse strings right now, so in the current environment it would probably sell for less than it would have a year ago.
