American bicycle********** Ne ideas on brand name?
hey all,
just joined simply for someone's expertise. I just bought an old vintage bike 20 bux.
It will be turned into a motorized cycle and totally revamped.
However. I'd like to know what the hell i have exactly. I don't have it in my posession yet. But the person selling put some info up said its serial # is p666164 but doesn't know if its a schwinn or what.
Heres some pics. It has the classic schwinn looking chain guard. Says "american" on it
the head badge has been perplexing me. Can't find anything online that matches it.
Its very faded. It says "american" on that also. Here are some pix. I would love any feedback. I'm just curious if it was a schwinn or possibly american machine foundry??? I dunno. Anybody that can help please respond
*also i found a schwinn serial number site and it did have a range for that serial number. It could have been built in 1955 or 56. Neway heres sum picutres

Not a Schwinn. Its a generic department store bike.
