Holdsworth Tandem
I posted in the Tandem Cycling subforum, but I thought I may be able to get some good information here as well.
I have a Holdsworth Tandem, and I'd like to know more about the frame; specifically it's production year.
It was hardly ridden, original paint is still beautiful save for a few chips, and the hubs are still silky smooth.
With the help of forum members and comparing to catalogs from nkilgariff.com, it looks like a Gemini Tandem, ~1987. However, the previous owner was sure it wasn't - although couldn't provide any more information, other than the original owner had to travel to England to purchase it. A sticker on the seattube mentions that it was built to comply with "BS 1602:1", which by a search through google, was established in 1981 and updated 1992.
Both bottom bracket shells are stamped "HADEN," and has a serial number "062139." It's pretty clear under the paint, although I've yet to take a look at the fork steerer tube to verify.
Here is a list of the components, which I have no idea are original or not:
Suntour Dropouts
Sountour Mountech derailleurs, shifters
Stronglight Drilled Cranks
Suzue 48h hubs
Arai drum brake
Shimano Cantilever brakes, pads
Does anyone on the board have access to a database of Holdsworth serial numbers? If there's anything else I should add that can help identify the history of the frame please let me know.
Also, how much is this bicycle worth in the C&V world?
