Tommasini Sintesi
I have a 56cm Tommasini Sintesi that I might sell as it is a bit small for mel. I bought it last year from a elderly collector that hardly ever rode it. I would like some help on identifying the year it was made. The SN is 848000. Thanks!

Very nice! A pic of this belongs in my “Pics of Fast bikes with triples“ thread ! Noidea of year of manufacture but the threadless fork has me thinking post 2002 or newer. Bike being 9 speed, im not sure when Campy went to 10, but very likely was built up from a frameset with the 9 speed group so that may not be a reliable indicator of age

The condition of the frame is excellent
That is a very popular size

I would suggest that you put the frame/fork/headset on Ebay with a "Buy It Now" of $1350 and have the option to "Make an Offer" and see what happens

I'll agree with most of what jet sanchEz says, except the components. I can't tell for sure, but everything appears to be at least Chorus, if not Record level. 9s can be converted to 10s, if you want. It's just a right shifter rebuild, new chain and cassette.
I'd guess 1998, if I had to.

It appears to be the same year as mine ('99). Mine is all Record. I paid significantly less for the complete bike than the suggested $1350 BIN for frame/fork/hs. Mine is a large, less desirable frame size and the paint isn't in as good of shape.

could a threadless fork have been an option in 99? I know they were available, But were just kind of trickling into the road bike world then before the floodgates opened a year or 2 later

Thanks for the comments and suggestion. I am a bit down on EBay these days. I sold a bike earlier this year and couldn't believe all the fees and deductions.

Gorgeous bike! I was going to guess late 90’s with the Neuron tubing, but the threadless fork makes me wonder early 00’s. You might try emailing Tommasini and asking.

You can always sell it here obviously even though the price you are likely to get will be less than eBay.
I can't speak to a value of $1350 for F/F/HS but at that price I know I start thinking about what a custom frame might cost and whether that might be a better (if no doubt more expensive) choice since it will be customized to suit your needs.

Nice bike! I don’t have much knowledge about Tommasini bikes, but I found this on ebay. Not exactly the same (ready for a 1X with no FD hanger and one downtube shifter braze). Hope this helps.

So here is what I understand of Tommasini Sintesi serial numbers. I have a 57cm (ctt) 1999 Sintesi that has a serial number of 377 9909. I emailed Tommasini asking for any info and Irio's daughter Barbara emailed me back indicating it was built in Sept of 1999. With that info I concluded that the last 4 digits '9909' indicated year '99' and then month '09'. I also guessed that the last digit of the first group of numbers '7' could possibly indicate a size 57cm frame but that was just speculation.
Just this week I purchased a second Tommasini Sintesi from the original owner. Same paint as the OP in fact. It is also a 57cm frame and is a 2000. The serial number is 1107 0004. Using Barbara's year and month theory this would indicate an April of 2000 frame. And it would also go along with my theory of the last digit in the first group of numbers '7' indicating a size 57cm frame.
So looking at your serial number '848 000' I would say with almost certainty that it is a 2000 frame. I'm not sure why your serial number doesn't have a fourth number in the second group of numbers. You might wanna look a little closer and confirm there isn't a fourth number hiding there. I'd also be curious to see if you measure the frame and it turns out to be a 58cm center to top (ctt). That would correspond with the '8' in the last digit of first numbers.
Either way I hope this sheds a little light or at least gets you pointed in the right direction. I would definitely reach out to Tommasini via email at info@tommasini.it and see what they have to say. Beautiful bike btw! They ride incredibly nice!
