Bianchi Limited '87

So I've been looking long and hard for a road bike in my size since my bike was stolen a couple of weeks ago, and I'm desperate for a new one! I came across this beautiful Bianchi Limited, but they are asking for $525. I don't know if it's worth getting it or if I should hold my horses and wait for another 48-51cm decent bike to come along.

It's equipped with Campagnolo Nuovo Record components, Shimano 600 with Ambrosio Rims, SR pedals, Columbus tubing. Any suggestions?

That frame has been retro-fitted with a mix of Nuovo Gran Sport and Nuovo Record parts. At least the derailleurs and brakes are the mid-range Nuovo Gran Sport. The crankset is Nuovo Record. Too high a price in my opinion, even a high priced market. In my area, he would get about $250.

tbperez I am in your market so for comparison I sold the following Celeste Bianchi Giro in Sept '09 for $425 which was probably full market value. It had all original Campagnolo parts and had a complete overhaul including BB, head set and wheel bearings.
I sold the black Italian made Bianchi Limited with all Shimano 600 components for $350 2 months ago which I believe to be top of the market, completely refurbished, new tires and brake hoods.

The saddle on that bike looks pretty bad. It's odd that the seller lumps Centurion, Schwinn and "Niskishi" in with Walmart and Costco junk bikes. It might be difficult to reason with him/her. Unless you can get him to come down a lot I would keep looking. The seller is in Corona and that is WAY off the beaten path for most of us. That might be to your advantage. I know it's hard to find a really nice bike in the 48 to 51cm size. I looked for quite awhile to find one for my wife. Good luck.

Thanks! Actually a few hours after I posted this thread, I purchased a purple Italian made Bianchi Limited with full Shimano 600 for $300. It needs new tires and probably could use some new grip on the drop bars, but other than that I'm more than pleased. :]

Congratulations! I was just about to say; too high, smaller frame bikes don't even get full market around here so wait. Enjoy your Bianchi. I like the color.

I'm glad to hear that things worked out for you. It's a slightly older version of the same frame. Good components, with indexing to boot. And you saved yourself a pile of money because you avoided the costly double C's (celeste and Campagnolo) . I'd appreciate if you would post the serial number for my database. TIA.

Ok, so I'm a total noob and the only numbers I was able to find were 6M and 5205 stamped under the BB. I don't know where else to look for it.

Thxs, that's exactly the info I was wanting. It was made in Italy in 1986.

I had the Bianchi Limited in purple back in the eighties, and I loved it. I've been searching for the same frame to make a fixie. Are you interested in selling it?
