Value of This Schwinn La Tour 111/History?

Hello,
I think I just got a great deal! I paid $30. for this Le Tour 111 at a 2nd hand store. I aired up the tires and oiled the chain then went for a short ride and it rode great. It needs a good overhaul but think it's a keeper....how bout it guy's?
Serial#8DO4584/Plate#0338...also how do I read these #'s...thanks

Looks like you got a 1978 Le Tour III (as in 3) in pearl blue. Definitely a keeper, if it is the right size. These guys make great commuters. Here is the catalog page:

+1 33rd day of 1978. Would benefit from alloy rims.

+1 to the rims, and also some new bar tape and a slimmer saddle. Should be a very dependable ride. Nice catch!
