Value of a 1976 Schwinn
Hi!
A friend of mine is looking to get a bicycle, and the fellow who powder coated my mixte had one that fit his requirements:
Large frame (he's 6'3 with a long inseam)
A "performance hybrid" - not a cruiser, but with a thicker tire than a road bike
The seller has a 1976 Schwinn road bike, 10 speed (shifters on down tube), shimano 600 rear derailleur (todays ultegra), new tires (a bit wider than a road bike tire), at least 60cm frame, new seat, new cables, new brake hoods, tuned up and all parts look good.
He has quoted me $300 CAD (a little less than $300 USD, I suppose) for it. Assuming it rides well and looks good in person, too, is this a good price?

As I recall, the Super Sport is a desirable model. But $300 for a friction shifting large frame road bike is a bit much. I'd try to bring it down to $200 CAD. Just my $.02

+1 $200 US is about full market on that bike. Huge frame is a detriment to value. And since you are looking for a large frame, use that as an advantage! It took me a year to sell the last bike I had in that frame size...
