So what made this1976 Paramount worth $1530 on Ebay?

I know it's a 15 speed, but is that why it went so high?
This one is not Mint and it has a crappy rack on the back.

The other Paramounts this Summer have been in the $500 - $1000 range, so why did this one go so high?

two people wanted it. At least the rack will come off and probably caused very little damage. I'm a little afraid to think what's under that generator.

Maybe all of the above contributed, but the biggest factor is simply that somebody was willing (or fool enough, in my book) to pay that for it.

Maybe, but it is Black, Black original is kind of rare, and '75 to '77 Paramounts seem to have had a following this year on ebay.

It will clean up pretty well, except the grounding screw indent from the generator set,Black for that and the other scratehes does touch up well.

Must have been the "DORK DISK" and "CHICKEN WINGS". Hey maybe those items aren't so bad after all, if a Paramount has them and it sells for $1500.....

My '73 sold for $1850 (more than my 'But Now') and I can assure you there was no funny buisness or Japanese bidders.

Mine did not have a 'spoke protector' but it still had its 'extension levers'.
