I ALWAYS buy the lot. I find people selling a group of bikes just wants them gone, and will make a much better deal on a group, than one at a time. Unfortunately, in this case, it is a pretty crappy lot. The Univega is the only bike I would have any interest in, and assuming it is in project condition (needs tires, cables, bearings, basic clean up, etc). So it would not be worth $75 to $100 to me.
As an end user who is willing and able to do the rehab, it would be worth the $75 to $100.
Why do I buy lots? First, the $$ just seem to be bigger. One recent lot (four bikes) cost me $140 (all the bikes were better than this lot, and there were four of them, not three). Had I made individual offers, the seller would have declined ($140 = just $35 per bike!!). Imagine picking up four bikes for $140, fixing up one and selling it for $200. At that point, the other three will be free.
I would pass on this lot, as the bikes are just too low end and the price is high.
I have on occasion bought an entire lot (four bikes), and immediately took three of them directly to my favorite thrift store. I took them directly there, dropped the off on the way home. So my "lot" buy was really just a single bike buy, but the seller was not interested in selling just one ("buyer must take them all"). Remember, even if you are "required" to take them all, that does not mean you have to keep them. But at the right price, I will buy four to get one.
In this case, the pricing is too high for a lot buy.
