Help Id year and campy group on bianchi campione del mondo

Hey All,

Picked up a late 80s - 90s Bianchi campione del mondo... its newer than most stuff I come across and I'm not sure it even belongs in the classic and vintage section?

I also can't I'd the campagnolo group that is on it.

Here are some details...

Made in Italy
Tange chrome front fork
Campagnolo groupo...
Campagnolo hubs and rims
Shifters and break levers are one piece
frame is chrome under paint
Steal frame w/ nice lugs
52 cm

I attached pictures... from my phone

Also any idea what its worth... it rides as is but need some work

if more and better pics are need I'll try and post some later tonight

Thanks

Ian

p.s. I'm going to put some campy and brooks saddle up for sale soon... but will give anyone who checks out this message a preview... if interested pm me... sale list will probably included

campy super record rear derailleur (78 pat), campy silica pump with head, campy hubs, record front derailleur, new brooks b17 black, b17 imperial honey, b17 imperial s (womens).

I don't mean to be rude but thos epics are awful! I can't tell anything from them. the group (or atleast the front brake) looks like an early Veloce or maybe Datona before they got Monoplanor brakes.

a tange fork but what kind of frame? if it is lugged and has chrome that leads me to think the frame may be nicer than the parts. what is the frame materiel?

what makes you think it is aCampion del mondo? is there a decal on it?

+1. Looks like circa 1993 Veloce brakes and Ergo. Looks like a Bianchi/Columbus tubing decal. I see about 4 different Columbus tubesets circa 1993-1994 on Veloce equipped Bianchi. We need better pics (drive side please) and info from the tubing decal.

Will get more info and pictures this weekend... I was just in a hurry and couldn't find my good camera... used my phone... which as you saw takes crappy pictures.

There is a champion del mondo sticker and tubing was columbus... but I'll look and see if there is more specifics. 52 is too small for me so I will likely fix and tune it up and sell it in a couple of months. Also does this belong in Classic and vintage if not I can repost to another thread.

Thanks

Ian

Technically, it's not quite vintage but this is probably the best forum for it as we're far more tolerant than some of the other forums. You may get some ribbing, but it will be mostly in jest. It's far too old for the guys on the other forums and some of them can get downright vicious.

if "campaione del mundo" is on that little decal on the DT with the 'rainbow' stripes it is not the model name. I am very curious about this frame. does it state what type of columbus tubing? Columbus tubing, luggs, and chrome stays could add up to something nice. although that fork is really out of place. it may, and most likely is, a replacement for some reason. Bianchis did not usually roll out of the factory with a mismatched fork.

I think this is may be a case where someone scored a nice frame and put some parts and a fork from a different bike on it. is there a B on the HT/DT lug? is anything engraved on the seatstay caps or the BB shell? what style and brand of dropouts?

Finally got some better picture... take a look and let me know what you think

https://i969.photobucket.com/albums/a...i/DSC05034.jpg

Additional information...

Frame is columbus Cromo
Bianchi is stamped on the piece connecting the seat stays.

Question remains... what is this frame and the campy group.

Second question what is it all worth... should I part it out and sell the frame or fix it and sell it complete.

Thanks

Ian

p.s. see new pictures

very interesting Bianchi. the fork is obviously a replacemet for some reason, but a nice one. in the early '90s Bianchi tried real hard to get into sort of a custom Bianchi shop. through the Reparto Corse they offered several frames and a few kits with limited options to interchange some things (ala10spd drive)

what I believe you have is a '93 Reparto Corse "CroMor Veloce 8v TSC" I know that is a mouthful but that is how it is labled in the 1993 Reparto Corse catalog. this frame was also available in 105STI.

as for the value..... unfortunately it is not Celeste nor does it have the original fork. CroMor frame and Veloce are middle of the road. it is a bit dirty and has some nice scrapes on the TT in a very visable spot, and looks like it has some miles on it. I personally would have a hard time paying more than $300-350 for it and that may be a bit high.

Thanks for all the info...

I think it will clean up nice and will make a nice entry level steel road bike once I get it all tuned up... I think in my market I shouldn't have any trouble selling it for $350 in spring.
