Murray 12 speed 1984 Olympics model. Wondering its worth?

I have a Murray 12 speed 1984 olympics model and was wondering what it might be worth?

Just about nothing. Post pictures.

That's cold. And inaccurate. Serotta made Murray bikes for the 1984 Olympics. If this is one of those, it is far from worthless. Pix would be nice.

+1 If it is a Serotta model, lots of value. Otherwise, not much at all. Post pics. If it is a Serotta model, MAJOR score! It will be pretty obvious.

Murray made a host of bikes that were 1984 Olympics models, including juvenile bikes, cruisers, and so on.

Murray was the "official bike" of the 1984 Olympics. So this allowed them to label the entire product line with 1984 Olympics graphics, regardless of quality.

If it's a "1984 Olympics Model," then it's almost certainly not an actual Murray bike from the Olympics from that year. As a former owner of an actual 1984 Olympics Murray-Serotta, I'm in a pretty good position to know. Pics will of course tell the story, but for starters, my 1984 Olympics Murray-Serotta wasn't labeled in any way, shape, or form as a "1984 Olympics Model." It did have some really cool pantographing. I'm only currently aware of two of the authentic bikes out there - mine (ex) and Ron Kiefel's.

I sold a Murray Adagio that had a 1984 Olympics decal on it for $80 last June. Close??? I doubt it's the Serotta in question.

Welcome to the forums. Your pictures are low resolution but they are good enough to see that it has stem mounted shift levers, brake safety levers, a one piece Ashtabula style crankset and stamped dropouts. These are all attributes of entry level models. It's the type of bicycle that you pick up at garage sales for $20 or less.

The Olympic 1984 was and is a BOS piece of scrap metal the real competition bikes from 84 had little or no branding other than the 84 Olympic limited American seat post which is rather distinctive. There is no chance the the Op's bike is a rare 84' Olympic bike in my opinion here on the forums we have had only one pop up in nearly 20 years.
