Paramount PDG road bike

I've been eye balling this Paramount PDG Tange Campy/Shimano 600 bike. The seller said he was flexible to $275 from his original asking price of $300. It's a 47cm OS Tange frame. He said he picked it up as just a frame and fork and built it up for his wife. Has Campy Record 8 speed levers, Record front derailleur, Veloce rear, Campy hubs, Mavic Reflex rims, Shimano 600 brake calipers and 170 mm crank, Sakae FX stem, titanium bb, and a Chris King headset. What year is this very patriotic Paramount and what originally came on this? Is $275 a decent price for this Tange tubed Paramount? If I decide to get rid of it will it's miniature size make it harder to sell and have to part it out to get my money back?

Yes. This is an early production Series Paramount designed by PDG and built by National/Panasonic. If it's in decent shape, it's worth his asking price of $275.

Definitely worth asking price. The 600 cranks alone could be parted out for in excess of $100.00 based upon the condition. The stem is nice, the other components look lightly used. A real mish-mash of components, but probably a nice ride.

The Campy bits add up to much of that on eBay.

I'd pick it up if it was in my size... I'm curious about oversized tubing.

+1, maybe a bit more. I'd rate it a "buy", even for a cheapie like me. Small frame, easy flip. If it fits you, and the components work, you should buy it.

If it was in my neck of the woods I would buy it, part it out and have some free shifters or maybe more than that.

That's what I was thinking. I think it would pay for itself two or maybe pushing three time over. I'm talking with the owner so I should be picking it up fairly soon. I never knew the 600 parts brought in that much.

Well I picked up the Paramount tonight along with two other flippers. I'll post up the others in a new thread. Good buys in my book!
