Bianchi on Craigslist
Comments on this Bianchi. Probably upper limit of size for me. I typically ride a 58 cm.
It has a lot of what I'm looking for.
Thanks!

it does seem a bit pricy for a '92 but the new price was about $550.
the the Bianchi magic does rub off on the lowerend bikes, inthe form of the SuperSet then SuperSet II and now whatever they call that huge downtube thing. this bike has a SuperSet II frame of Tange Infinity chomoly

Crank is fugly IMO and 21 speed = triple crank. If you have big hills maybe it's for you, maybe not. Cro moly = what kind?
The extra peddles, (pedals) and shoes don't mean much if you can't use them. No way could I sell it for $395 where I live. It would need to be mid level Columbus tubing with a few Campagnolo bits to fetch that but you say it's what you are looking for. Maybe you can wait him out until he lowers the price again or have him take away the extras.

I agree, that seems like a lot of money for an Exage bike. I'm no Bianchi expert, so maybe there is some hidden value that I'm not aware of. I'm always interested in what the tubing is made out of. The seller mentions Cromolly tubing, but doesn't say if it's butted. I'm really doubting that this bike is 23 lbs. Steel is a great touring bike tubing, and even if it's straight gauge, it probably is a nice rider. If you normally ride a 58cm bike, I wouldn't worry about the 60cm, touring bikes have shorter top tubes, and this one looks like a 57cm TT.

The bike is not "exactly" what I'm looking for. It has some things going for it. I was of the opinion that it is priced way too high and it seems that is the consensus.
I sold a Schwinn Letour Luxe that was Columbus Tenax and it was listed at 25 lbs., so this one is probably not 23 lbs. given the low end and heavy groupset as well as the less than exotic tubing.
Thanks all!

I wouldn't give up on it. There is a lot involved with evaluating the quality of a bike that is hard to determine, even if you are standing right in front of it. You have obviously seen something in the bike you like, I do too, it would be worth trying to look at the bike and make an offer that seems reasonable to you.

the reason for the ugly triple was this bike was to be a cheaper cousin to the Eros. the Infinity frame is the same one used on the this, the Forza (that was a real dog) Eros Campione (the same price point as a Campione d Italia but japanes made so just Campione)
unless it has zero miles $400 is way too much, I think closer to 200
