Old Bianchi Frame Found in Garage

I posted this on the general forum and was instructed to come here and see what info I could get. Found this frame in the garage of my sister's place when she moved in. Would really appreciate any info you could give me regarding it, year, style, value.

I'd say that isn't very old. Late 90's at the oldest but most likely only a decade or less. It's welded, most older Bianchis are lugged. It's a track frame that would make a great fixie or singlespeed if you are into that sort of thing. And being a Bianchi, it is a solid frame. I'd say in that condition worth $300-350 wouldn't be far off. Looks as if it's never been built up. Strange it was left behind.

It's certainly not very old. It's not exactly rare, either. It is, however, an awesome find!

Thanks for the info. I enjoy riding, just don't know much about bikes beyond I like to ride them. I currently use a Fuji Classic single speed as my everyday ride, would it be worth getting this one put together?

Yep, it would make a killer single speed. I'm jealous..it's really pretty. Just get a clear aluminum, chrome or black steel fork for it..unless it had one with it. That way you don't have to paint and it looks right.

It's a Pista from around 2006, though I think they produced this color into the late '00s. They called the color "gang green."

Jetboy beat me to it!

This was the only "new" bike I ever had - a graduation gift in 2006.

There was a fork of the same color. I guess this wound up being a pretty good find.

Yes, she did. She knows I like bikes and gave this to me during our Christmas gift exchange back during the holidays. Good deal for me!

Awesome sister! Great that you have the matching fork. I'd bet that is a better ride than the Fuji..if not just in coolness factor alone.

You just got your game stepped UP!

Nice ride. Check the SS/FG sub forum for ideas on the build up. Eager to see it.

Are you Bigjoe as in tall Joe or as in heavy set Joe? If you are TallJoe than this frame is probably too small for you. It looks yo be about a 55cm-58cm. Do you know what size frame you ride?

A little bit of both, I am 6'5 and 250 pounds. I ride a 58cm on my single speed and my road bike is a 60cm. I measured and this one is 55cm....hmmmm.

Darn, it's too small. Now you'll have to give it away.

Yeah, that is waaaay too small for you. That'd fit me and I am 8" shorter than you. Frankly I think your 58 and 60cm bikes are probably too small as well. Cool find, though. You can sell it and get something else.

At 6'5" the OP would have to have very short legs in relationship to his torso for this frame to work for him, but let's not get too carried away with telling folks what size bike they need based solely on their height. Inseam length can vary wildly for people of the same height.

Case in point:
I'm 6' 1 1/2" tall. A frame in the 59 to 61cm range fits me fine, fairly long legs, fairly short torso.
My son, at 6'2", is half an inch taller than me. A frame in the 53 to 55cm range fits him fine, very short legs, very long torso.

Good point. Must be hard to find a bike that fits your son. I would think a 53-55cm would have a similar length top tube. Which would require a super long stem. Unless he goes with a custom builder that is.
