Bianchi Strada touring bike

I'm unsure of the year. The specs are as follows: Front fork is Chrome Moly. Frame is Reynolds 520 Chrome Moly. Front derailleur says Shimano Tiagra HB 440 rear derailleur says SRAM 7.0. Tires are Vitoria ProTeam although one of them needs replacing. It is missing a seat.

Is it worth $100?

Also, anyone know what year it is (My guess is 2001) and how many speeds it is?

Thank you!

I'll try and look tonight, but early 2000s sounds about right. I never saw one in person but my understanding is they were more road oriented than regular hybrid. if this is close to ridable and my size I would certainly grab it for $100

I couldn't respond back to your private message because I don't have 50 posts... The message I wanted to send you is below:

Hi,

Please, please, please don't buy it. My biggest concern with asking people if a bike was a good deal was that someone would get to it before me. For some reason the lady hasn't responded back to my latest email, which made me upset and realize that this is the bike I want the most out of everyone I contacted.

I hope you understand and I do appreciate you giving me advice!

I would never buy a bike out from under another member. well it is a good deal but you have to worry more than just us.

I did check and I am pretty sure this is a 2001.

+1 I am sure BG would not.

But realize this is a public forum, and all kinds of people are surfing this area looking for deals. They don't have to be members. So if you are really interested in a bike, DON'T post it here!

Learn how to spot good bikes, grab one, then post after the fact.

50/50 chance or better that bike is gone. A lot of C/L sellers are flakes, and once they sell a bike, they don't respond to replies, and yet they leave their ads up. Happens all of the time around here.

Basically, any bike shop branded road bike is going to be worth more than $100, unless it is damaged. And at that price level, stuff tends to sell fast. Rule one of replying to an ad on C/L, just tell the person you want the bike and would like to come by now to get it. Don't pester them with questions, requests for more pictures, what is this? what is that? etc. Realize on cheaper priced bikes, they typically will get several responses. Sellers don't go in the order that people replied, they look for who is going to be the easiest buyer to deal with.

This bike is a lot bigger than others you have posted. You need to figure out what size you want/need, then pounce.
