Rossin Record for $650 - worth it?

hi guys,

I've been looking for a used cinelli steel frame and working it into a commuter/weekend road bike and ran into this on CL:

It's got suntour superbe and supposedly in great condition (seller is a bike shop owner). So if I do buy this bike, I'm thinking (maybe) I might be updating the drivetrain to 2011 veloce or maybe even shimano 105.

with that said, will it be worth purchasing this bike at 650? what do you guys think? I'm not too familar with rossin but i think it looks like an amazing bike. probably will replace saddle with a concor and the pedals with toe clips.

This will get moved, but this looks like a beauty.

I have a Rossin produced Pogliaghi, and the bicycle performs well.

I would need additional detail fotos to establish value, but from the pic I see, the bike looks very interesting.

In fact, this one would tempt me if it popped up locally.

No reason to swap the drive train. Except those awful plastic pedals.

Drivetrain looks like Superbe Pro a highly desirable vintage group. Check the Ebay prices for SP, sells for a premium these days and works wonderfully!!!!

Test ride pedals.

Test ride saddle.

I'd have them replaced within ten minutes!

I have just bought a Rossin frame and built it up with a period groupset and I am so glad I did. It is a wonderful ride and it fits me perfectly. As already said, the Suntour Superbe Pro groupset is a collectable groupset. I have Suntour Superbe Pro on a Pinarello and think very highly of it. It had been a groupset I had desired for about 15 years. I think you would sell it easily - but it does look great on the Rossin.

Mario Rossin was Colnago's head frame builder in the early years before he left and was set-up with his own bike manufacturing company. He was thought of as being very progressive.

yeah, i would replace with clipless pedals and san marco concor saddle (keep the vintage look going).

especially if it has the hidden spring SSP brakeset. those are quite beautiful and hard to get these days. I have a set that I just started using and for a single pivot brake they work pretty well.
