Quality? Sure. Rusty as well. Need to read the various rust removal threads, and see if you want to go down that path. Myself, rust to the extent on this bike does not bother me, but I expect a sizable discount, as it means complete dismantle, soaking in an OA bath, etc. Will turn out nice, but there is a lot of work along the way.
The good news is that rust scares most buyers.

I have been doing some research and it looks like perhaps the gold rims are Mavic gold anodized. record du monde sewups.
and the rear derailer is Huret Jubilee later version with the longer spring.
Crank is unkwon at this time.
The rust does not look bad to me. I though I could get away with just cleaning/polishing the chrome?

Nice. thanks for the info on the cranks. I think all the holes confused me when I was searching. I does look like a bigish frame...
I'm going to try and have a look at it today to see if it fits me.

Go for it, the asking price is very reasonable, I think it would look great with some silver or blue fenders. Let us know how it turns out.

Humm, it needs a rear spoke and truing and a new rear tire. Seems tubular tires are expensive.

Man, so are you really not going for this? From what I can see that's an early 70's Jeunet Professional. It looks to be all original with TA cranks and Mafac 2000 brakeset + Normandy hubs + MAVIC Oro rims. $100 for a bike with full Huret Jubilee? Damn... for most of us, replacing spokes, cables, tires etc. is expected when you pick up a really old bike, and no big deal. When I picked up my Cinelli it needed all of the above and more. If it is a Pro, and I can't see how it couldn't be, it should also be full Reynolds 531 DB. I confess when I first read your post, a small, dark part of me almost jumped in the car and headed out for Hamilton, but then I figured that would not be too cool, and I have plenty of bikes.
But if you're not going for it... (insert - rumbling sound of engine starting...)

You're Right,
I'm being a nob. I'm going to buy it. I've just co-ordinated a time to pick up the bike. It was just that tubulars scare me, but I will get over it.
thanbks for the extra push!.

Good job! I actually don't need another project right now, and my wife thanks you. It looks like a fantastic bike. The only significant area of rust looks to be around the chainstay, and I've always found silver to be one of the easiest colours to touch up. Honestly the components on this bike are super cool and worth WAY more than the asking price alone. As to the tires, you can pick up decent tubulars for between $35 and $40 each and despite the mystique around them, they are no big deal to install. I am the least mechanically inclined person in the world, and I install them on a regular basis. If you need help with them, just email me at devin.fan@yahoo.ca and I can walk you through it.
The only things I would do if I were you when you go to pick up the bike are:
1. Loosen the seatbinder bolt and make sure you can actually move the post.
2. Bring a selection of allen keys. If you know how to loosen a quill stem, lossen the stem and make sure the stem moves.
3. Run your hand along all the tubes and fork and check carefully to make sure nothing is bent or cracked.
4. Check for cracks in the rim at the spoke nipples.
If all is well then you are getting an amazing deal.

I didn't get your advice until after I bought the bike. I'll have to hope for the best and deal with problems as I see them. Well I have it home. An you are right about the components. Also it has a Brooks Professional saddle instead of a ideal one that I would have expected.
I have pictures if you would like me to post some?

Wow. After looking a that stem I am seriously regretting not snaking you on this. Congratulations. But I'll still help you with the tubulars! You should move this to the regular C & V forum, it will get lots of love there.
