Shimano mini road bike

I just rebuilt this Shimano frame mini road bike i beleive from the 70's to the mid 80's? Shimano hubs, weinmann rims, shimano seatpost, Alps Industrial Handlebar, Dia-Compe brake levers. Any idea how much this bike is worth? Thanks! 20" wheels.

It is cute, but kind of a "curio". I suspect a kid small enough to fit the bike will have a hard time riding it with that gear ratio. Maybe go to the main C&V forum and read the thread on junior road bikes, to see what they are getting their bikes for. I've seen junior (kids) roadbikes come up on eBay occasionally, they seem to fetch $150 to $250, but they have derailleurs, shifters, etc which should add value versus the bike shown, and sometimes the components are higher-end.

With smaller wheels, the gearing ratio changes dramatically and I suspect the set up on this bike is fine.

Hello Almaite welcome to the forums. Cute bike! What brand is it? Can you post a close up of the headbadge?

Somehow I don't think this was really intended as a kids or junior bike.

Howmuch rebuilding are we talking? Just overhaul all the bearings or repaint? Any details on the frame like a manufacturer stamped on the dropouts? Or the brakes for that matter? could you post some better pics? maybe from the drive side? Closeups of the headtube and seattube luggs.

Judging from the wheel/frame clearances, I'm guessing this bike was built for larger wheels, maybe 24". That and the angle of the rear stays suggest this.

looks like a 24 as stated. The 20" with huge tires isn't period correct. The fork is all wrong, too much space, and the frame is too stretched out for a 20" junior. Those brakes are beach cruiser types and are maxed out to reach the rims.

Thanks for the input. I found this bike at a local tire shop here in the Philippines. It didn't have a fork but it came with the wheels. No brakes either. The head badge is a Shimano. It was so beaten up and painted over, all I could do was strip the paint and shine with metal polish. I will try to post close up pics. Changed all bearings, new tires, new seat, paint. Thanks again.

I have no clue but it is a cool bike. I would consider nicer wheels and brakes. Long reach tektros and maybe some skinny alloy wheels possibly with an Internal Gear hub of some type.
