1971 Raleigh International - green

Hi folks, I'm trying to assess the value of this Raleigh International. It's part of my New Year's resolution to thin the herd to those bikes that I actually ride. This one is one of the lucky few that will get to abandon the nest since it's way to big for me, hopefully to find a home where she'll get the exercise she needs. I have no interest in parting out even though I realize the sum of the parts are worth more than the whole.

Here is a link to my photobucket album with plenty more pics: https://s343.photobucket.com/albums/o...International/

The first image that appears in the photobucket album is the specification chart. There are some modifications since the pics and the chart were posted: Period water bottle cage has been added, tubulars have been replaced with new but not glued, mismatched shifter lever covers removed, pulleys replaced (red Bullseyes always bothered me).

In addition to the above, the bottom bracket was replaced by the original owner with a Phil Wood, the top of the line at the time. He did not keep the original.

Thank you kindly for your words of wisdom.

Beautiful bike and well presented. The only thing I would do differently is take the picture at a different time of day to reduce the shadows. I would also put on some bar tape, so I guess that is two things.

+1 Size will reduce the value for sure, as will the paint loss on the top tube. I would get the bike totally ready to ride. I don't follow Raleigh pricing well enough to guide you, it certainly will have significant value.
