Miyata Seven Ten

Hey,
I've been looking for an older bike to get back onto a bike (haven't ridden since my old department store mountain bike 14 or so years ago when I was 12).

Anyways, came across this Miyata Seven Ten for sale. 50 cm frame. (I'm 5' 6", with a 29" inseam) for $150.
From the looks of it, it looks like an '86 model.
It looks like the brake levers have been replaced as the '86 710 had aero levers.

However, if I go give it a look and ride, what should I be looking for, and is it worth it for the price? From what I've read, it's a pretty good model.

Thats a step down in levers and obviously needs tape. Assuming it needs service that is the high end of what I would pay, but if you can do the work it could be a good buy. It could be near $100 for LBS to get in shape. Once done it is a very nice bike.

You may already have this, but here is the component list for an 86 710. Just make sure nothing else has been swapped out. If not, maybe you can talk him down a bit on the bars and levers. Or maybe he already factored that into his price. I don't know your market. In my neck of the woods, $150 would not be a bad price. Depending on condition of remaining components and frame.

Need to be pretty handy if you buy that bike. It needs work, and the cost to have a shop do this work for you would make it a mediocre deal.
