Ciocc Designer 84
Ciocc Designer 84. Red with smoked chrome fork and stays. Campy SR group, Shimano 600 tri-color levers, Dura Ace/Mavic front wheel, Mavic/Mavic rear. 3ttt stem and bars. Selle Italia Flite saddle. All components are in great shape cosmetically and functionality wise. Paint is in excellent condition. Chrome is also in great shape, except for the drive side chain stay where it gotten a little corroded and flaky. SLX tubing. Basically, this bike got ridden about 500 miles back in the mid-80's, then stored ever since. How much should I be looking at here?

It sounds great but I think the mish-mash of parts will detract from the value. The frame/fork on their own should get some nice bucks on ebay but the value will depend on what size the frame is----got any pics?

Not yet no. I'll have to come back to this later. I've thought about looking for some SR levers and a wheelset, but I'm just trying to get an appraisal. I'm probably gonna keep it as a daily rider.

The smoked chrome is pretty rare, probably only made for a year or two. I have 2 Cioccs and they are excellent bikes, I wouldn't part with either of mine for less than $800 and, at that price, I doubt I would have a problem selling them.

The smoked chrome is cool as hell, and I had no idea that they were only made for a short period. But everything I've read about it makes it sound like it's far more brittle than regular chrome, and subject to cracking/corroding more easily.
Any idea what years Ciocc was doing this?

In the condition you have it...if I wanted it...I'd pay about $500, tops.
I sold a Ciocc in damned good condition with full panto SR and matching silca for 1300ish for what it's worth.

+10 Beautiful bike, with the right (appreciative) buyer, that bike could go high. How high, I am not sure, but its a nice one.

It's basically the one I sold with lesser components. There's some luck involved here, but I wouldn't be shocked if someone went $1,000ish on ebay.

Awesome! Thanks for the compliments! Need to get some more appropriate pedals, and a shorter stem, I think I'm keeping this as a rider. But it's good to know that I came out on the winning end of this. On that note though, anyone got a 3ttt quill stem that's 90mm or shorter? I keep getting sniped out of them on Ebay...
