Bianchi EL/OS Road Bike

Hey guys, new member here. I decided I want to buy a road bike for those weekend rides here in New York City and I was wondering about this bike.

First of all, will it fit me? I am 6'4 and a lean 235lb.

The seller said

I have this Bianchi EL/OS road bike for sale. The frame is made of Columbus steel tubing. The fork is 1" threadless carbon fiber. There are no dents, cracks in the frame, but the paint is slightly patchy (the frame is fully chromed so there is no rust anywhere). It has Tiagra 9 speed STI shifters, Ultegra cranks, 600 derailleurs and tektro brakes. The wheelset is practially brand new; Freedom rims, Specialized tires. It has aero drop bars. It is super lightweight and rides very well. The size is 61cm center to center (top tube measures 59cm c-c).

The asking price is $695, is it worth it? Overpriced? What would be a good price for this bike? Thank you!

hmm... 61cm may still be a little small for someone 6'4". Seems a bit over priced for the condition and mismatch of components... I'm thinking a fair asking price would be $565 with out the paint chips... drop it to an even $500 for the bad paint. I know your in NYC and I know bike prices are higher there. I think you could probably find a better deal.

As a fellow New Yorker, I'd also say you should pass. Prices are high here, but that's too high.

Too small for you. Google bike sizing, you will find a lot of information out there on the topic.

^ I did and it seemed like it would almost fit me. People mostly give ranges and sometimes 61cm falls into my height.

Thanks for the information everyone! You guys are great.

I think it depends on how you like the top tube length. I am 6'1" and a 59cm top tube is just too long but I like a 60-61cm seat tube. It might be right for you.

I would want this bike at a discount for the paint or look for a better example at full market. He wants $850 for it on ebay. Yikes.

+1

I know NYC prices are high, but I'd pay $500 tops for that bike.
