I got this bike from my dad and im looking to sell it but not sure how much its worth. my friend said that he would buy it and to shoot him a price but i have no clue. Heres what i know about the bike:




Specialized Sirrus-not sure what year??

Shimano 106 everything pretty much. brakes, crank, levers, gears. maybe more im not sure.

No tune up needed

That looks like a pretty big frame and was maybe too big for whoever is riding it now. you can't tell much from that pic just that it is red and has silver parts on it.

why did your Dad give to you? did he want you to ride? if you got it for nothing and your Buddy really wants it to ride cut him a deal and give it to him for $150 and large supreme + sixpack

my dad gave it to me cause his hip doesnt allow him to ride anymore. he gave it to me to either ride or sell and i really want a nice fixie so im gonna sell it. the frame isnt too big cause im only 5 10 and it fits me a tiny tiny too big. i think its about 58 cm. I know for a fact that everything is shimano 106 and in very good condition.I was hoping to get 200 but since it is a friend i guess 150 seems enough. just wanna get a good start for my savings for a fixie =)

IMO - market price for a fast sale is $200-$250, depending on market and advertising skills. $150 would be a good price for your friend.

I'd guess mid 90's? I ride a similar 1991 Sirrus. I love it. It's the only bike of about 6 or 7 I own that I want to ride anymore.

Here;s mine, It's a 58. Yours may be a 60. And yeah, I'd give you $150 for it in a heartbeat. Especially since it's got a Shimano 106 group-set.

I'm pretty sure it's older than mid-90s...they'd moved to rx-100 stuff in 92'ish. I think mine was a 90'...maybe a 91' (hard to remember for sure) and I believe it was the same model and year. After the fade paint jobs, but still 105.

I think Nigel Tufnell used Shimano 106.

I believe you are right about Nigel. Did anyone else catch that?

I sold one of these recently and from what I found it was probably late 80's. It only had 105 components. Pretty sure the Sirrus name was slapped on the Specialized hybrid or MTB later on.

It was a nice rider, double butted cro-mo tubing and IIRC sold for $250 pretty quick but was smaller, a 53cm and someone had put a front wheel on there with a Campy Record front hub.

+1 Late 1980s model. Sold one fully refurbished, ready to ride, last year for $220.

A couple things...

1. Look again, it's Shimano 105.
2. Buy your fixed gear from a bike shop, or learn about bike fit before you buy one online. The saddle is positioned very low in the picture. Either that bike is too big for you, or you don't have the saddle high enough.

I'd say it's worth about $200. But if you're selling it to a friend, maybe give him a brake on it. $150 sounds pretty good.

well, i've got one and so am biased. But just saw a refurbished version of this with original two-tone paint for $700. No idea if this is unreasonable price.....but just
sayin'....

Any bike nearly 40 years old in very good shape is a fairly scarce commodity.

I do like the sloping fork crown. Don't like original white saddle.

I read somewhere (credible) that the early 1980s versions of this bike had same frame as Allez, but with lower grade components.

seems nice. I paid around $300 but then got a pro paint job for $xx. i'm surely into it for more than it's worth..... but don't really care at this point.
Frame was on cusp of getting rust damage.

That's a 1987. Based on the picture and lack of location it's probably worth more than $100 and less than $500.
