frejus or legnano
Hello everyone,
i am looking for an old road bike to restore and found these 2 occasions
frejus www.flickr.com/photos/restlesseye/6382677295
legnano www.flickr.com/photos/restlesseye/6382735149
any idea how much they could be worth, and moreover..is it worth buying any of the two?
thank you for your time.

Frejus and Legnano are more very desirable brands. However, it all depends on the model and vintage. Both were full range manufacturers and the in business for a very long time. What are collectible are their boom era and earlier, high end models.
The Frejus is the right era but not the right level. It's a low end city bicycle and very rough. I'd pass on it. The Legnano on the other hand, is too modern to be highly desirable. It still may be decent and a good buy but we'd need to know details on the tubing, components and price.

Thank you for your comments T-mar
the sellers ask 100euros for either bike, i already though it was quite expensive, that's why i decided to investigate a bit more, and ask the opinion of some experts.
if i were to buy the legnano, i'd definitely try to get a better price for it, so as to restore it as a bike that i would use nearly every day.
I asked for the components but haven't got an answer yet.
Thanx again

In my opinionated opinion, neither of those bikes are worth the time, money & effort they will need to restore them. Frejus made many different bicycles back in the day, but their reputation rests on their racing bikes. That one looks like a low-end city bike. The Legnano is probably a later bike made by a manufacturer (Bianchi, I think) who owns the rights to the Legnano name. For 100 euros you can do better, I think.
If I were you, I'd keep looking.

Keep looking, restless, and remember that the hunt is part of the fun of vintage bicycle ownership. Finding the right bike, finally, is also part of the fun. It is figuring out which is the right bike, that can cause problems. With that in mind, it would be a good idea to learn how to tell a good bike from a lesser one.
Learning about Bicycle Quality will prepare you to decide, for yourself, if a bicycle is a worthy one, or not. And, patience will prove rewarding, even more-so if you learn How To Find Vintage Bicycles.
Hope this is a help.
