1987? Specialized Allez Epic
Hi all,
I purchased this bike to use the parts for another build and now have a frame taking up space. Can you guys provide a ball park of what I can expect to try this frame for? If it's not worth the hassle (aka high enough price to deal with it) I could convince the lady to keep and build it one day...
Photos are of the frame built up. If it matters, I can take photos of the frame itself.

IMO you'll have a hard time selling that as a frame only. The carbon tubed/Al lugged bikes don't have the best reputation and potential buyers might think you stripped it due to an issue that would only show up when riding (creaking, for example.)
Value? I paid $230 for a complete '93 Epic and later sold it for $260. They aren't worth a ton, a frame/fork may be worth less than $100.

First of all, I have owned lots of old road bicycles and one of the absolute best riding is the Specialized I ride these days. My Specialized Junker II is nothing to look at, but it is something to ride. You might want to keep the bike for yourself, if it is a good fit.
As for Value, I really have no idea, however; the frame is attractive. What size is it? I might know of a buyer, or trader, depending...

FWIW, it's no older than 1988. I agree with FastJake's comment regarding their reputation and selling it as a bare frame.

Were those made by ALAN? Kind of looks like a carbon ALAN that I checked out at a local bike shop. Though I can't open the thumbnails on my iPhone.
