1953 Armstrong

I saw this bike fall off of an RV on the highway It bounced once did like 3 flips in the air and got stuck in a tree after I got it free and loaded it up I could not find the RV I did look for it for about 20 miles or so out of my way so I came home called the cop shop told them what happened and this is what i have it's been 3 months and no one has called the local police station to claim it so it is now mine to keep. The only damage I can see is a slight bend in the forks I'm thinking of trying to fix with a larger pipe to slide over each fork and gingerly bend it back I'm thinking some rags to keep the gouging down to a minimum but I'm open to suggestions

Some one told me they call this an "oiler frame" because of the flip open little caps I think they are a brilliant I was telling this one guy I called the shifter has a H N L to indicate the gear your in he argued with me and said i was reading them wrong he said Strumey Archer never made a H N L it was either 1-2-3 or 1-2-3-4- we went back and forth until i sent him several photo's of the shift lever and that ended that'
He then said it is the first he has ever seen or heard of the H N L Meaning I'm guessing high gear normal gear and low gear At first I thought the N meant neutral because when i centered it on the "N" the crank just spun I figured out later it was in between gears and in fact n means normal

I would have that fork straightened at a bike shop, or rethink your pipe and rags plan. The bend is near the top, sliding a pipe over the bottom is going to bend the bottom, unless it is a really large diameter pipe.

Bike has value, minimal right now until the fork is repaired.

No grips, no chain guard, no front fender all hurt value, as do the step through (womens style frame). But still, vintage 3 speeds get a good response from the market. Love the head badge!
