English bike - Help with Identification
Hi-
I'm trying to figure out what I have here.
I found it on craigslist - the owner knew nothing about the bike (his wife apparently bought it as a prop for their restaurant - a pizza place).
It is a 3 speed, 12" wheeled tandem, the blue paint is not original and, in the light, one can read "NP" and I think it says Norman Pillinger Cycles Alcester Warks. The stokers saddle still has the Brooks badge, the captains saddle is a much softer leather but no longer has its badge (still a Brooks?).
Any help, direction, etc. appreciated.
Thanks.

Constant tinkerer
I've never seen a tandem with such small wheels! This thing doesn't fold up does it?
I'd probably post this over in the regular C&V forum with a title that might attract more attention like, "English 3-speed tandem: 12" wheels". I bet someone there could give you some direction. Is it a Sturmey Archer hub? They have date codes pretty clearly marked on the shell so at least you can find out when it was made.

Thanks for the reply.
No, it does not fold.
Wheels, from rim to rim, are 12" (31.5 cm)
I just went out and cleaned off the hub, it says, "Sturmey Archer 66 3 THREE SPEED".
I'll repost in the regular forum as suggested.
