Vintage Bianchi...
Picked up this small bianchi road bike yesterday...
I know... its not celeste... and its made in japan... but
To my surprise it had better components than expected...
48-50cm frame
Suntour Cyclone rear derailleur, suntour superbe pro front derailleur, Tourney AD crankset, sr stem, suzue hubs laced to araya rims, campy grand sport pedals.
frame is 1020... but still very light bike.
Bike needs tires, tubes, cables, and bar tape... all of which I have and can do my self.
What will it be worth once I refurbish it? I will probably keep the pedals but replace them with decent but that doesn't have much value.

Cute little bike. 19-inch frame ???
If it fits you ride it. If its too small, flog it.
Just as is it would sell for about 180 to 220 in Toronto, the market I'm closest to....
Cleaned up as you describe, possibly another hundred if you can get it ready for Feb 14th !!

what is feb 14th? Too small for me... it will be a flip... I was hoping for $225 to $250 with once refurbished in the spring... minus the campy pedals.

what other parts would you swap out... problem is I'm rich in higher end parts but only have a few lowered parts to replace stuff I've already taken off.
shoot... here in fort collins I can get $165 out of a clean and restored schwinn varsity that is heavy... you would be amazed at some of the asking prices for stuff in Fort Collins. there are a few other guys flipping bikes but very few actually put new tires, tubes, and bar tap or cables.
To get top dollar in fort collins its more about timing... spirng and when students come back to school in the fall.

yes I think its a limited as well due to the decal with lim with the rest rubbed off... I thought the front fork was a replacement... but the frame show no signs of a crash or any thing.

If the fork was replaced from a trauma of some type I doubt you would see much evidence on the frame because of the big headlug. I suspec the threading on the original fork got damaged

I looked in my archives and see the same thing as Bill. Looks like Ishiwata 022 tubing like I had on this 63cm frame. Nice rider just a weee bit tall. If you see a 1024 sticker then ????

and the OPs bike is the same an '83 or 84 but with a replacement fork. I just double checked the '83/84 Limiteds seem to be identical except for the color choice or electric blue in '83 and Black in '84. the '82 also comes in that great darl maroon color but the crankset is noticably different. I always thoght while darkish for a bike that was a great rich looking color

February 14th is VALENTINES DAY !!!
Bikes make great presents.
I have put a couple of similar little Bianchis onto Kijiji for the occasion. Like you, I just can't resist a nice little Bianchi at a garage sale and pick them up even if they are too small, as there ones obviously are. Two of them have 19-inch frames. Maybe some nice person will buy your little bianchi for his or her girlfriend, wife, husband or boyfriend...

I was wrong about the tubing... it is Ishiwata 022. So safe to say its a 84/83 bianchi limited with replacement fork. It should clean up nicely and I look forward to working on it. Thanks for the info.

also I like the yellow housing... I don't have any yellow but I might get some... probably will use a natural cork color gel bar tape and then some gum wall tires.

I know that I am late to this forum but a coworker came upon this exact bike and doesn't really have any use for it. The following picture is the bike's current state. Do you think that this bike is worth buying and if so what is a good price to buy it? I figure I will refurbish it and resell is next year. It is missing the front wheelset and I cannot tell much about the rear since the photos are not that clear. I am currently am restoring a Peugeot U08 so even if I do pick up the Bianchi it will be for a late autumn project. What do you think??

That is nothing like the model that the thread is about. It looks like a lower end model, as evident by the location of the shifters on the stem, rather the downtube, and the safety levers on the brakes.
It is a huge frame and unless it fits you it is not worth doing anything with. As a flipper you would need to buy it for less than $25 to break even after you spend the time, effort and money to give it a good overhaul and a new front wheel.
