Moulton - price idea and size question
I know squat about these...other than that Moulton is pretty cool.
Around what would be a value range on this? How do you size yourself to one? Just use a longer stem and more post? Is this a decent model?

If you know a bit about the Moultons, this is a pretty good opportunity. This bike was my wife's daily rider until about a year ago when she hurt her leg. About the same time, the rear tube went flat and the bike's been sitting since then. I originally bought the bike with the intent to fully restore it. It needs just the tube repair to be rideable, but lots more to be nice.
I had the rear rack completely redone by a welding shop, but never repainted it - the idea was to repaint the whole bike at once. Anyway, there's surface rust on the frame, but nothing that affects the integrity. The 4-speed Sturmey Archer rear hub and shifter are 100% functional and nicely geared for riding in Philly. The Brooks saddle is usable, but pretty trashed. The pearlized adjustment tabs are shot (though functional) and the original grips are pretty much past their useful life. Tires should be replaced and have to be ordered online because the size is unique to Moulton.
Feel free to email questions. Promise to take care of it and I'll entertain reasonable offers, but nothing ridiculous.

Bike looks beat to me, I see rust, a really cheap stem, I would pass.

I went to see it...it's worse than it looks. Passed, though it is awfully cool and it did pique my curiosity.

I bought a much more trashed Moulton off CL for $75 this fall. $80 in new rubber -16 x 1 3/8 schwalbe MR's and a saddle off a raleigh I had laying around. I had the rear forks welded (strengthend) for $60 - almost all of these bikes have cracked rear forks. It is an absolute joy to ride. The price is what it is. A version of this bike still holds the unassisted upright position land speed record of over 50 mph.https://members.localnet.com/~milliken/liner/ These bikes are somewhat rare. A new Moulton can cost you upwards of $20,000. https://portapedalbike.com/products-p...ew-series-red/If you have the money, buy it and enjoy. not a good flip deal though.

In the vintage arena, there are plenty of alternates, both folders and small wheel bikes. I have a pretty cool Puch in the project queue. Nice Sturmey 3 speed, chrome chain guard, etc. And of course, the Raleigh Twenty is always a nice choice.

I own and ride six vintage small wheeled bikes including a sooped up R20, the Moulton is by far the best. It is incedibly fast and fun to ride. The suspension sucks up all but the biggest bumps.
