How old is my schwinn?
Hey everyone, found an old schwinn behind my garage and can't seem to find out anything from the serial number I got off it. The number is MJ527800 and I can make out that its a schwinn Collegiate (5speed). But when I try to look up the number I get nothing. I do have pictures of someone can help. Thanks alot!

MJ=December, 1973 (it would be a 1974 model year Suburban).
EDIT - Oops! Make that 1974 model year Collegiate; I had Suburban on my brain.

I'm guessing $100 - $150 in decent condition and depending on the market where you live. If it's a ladies' model (step-through frame) it'll typically have less value than a mens' frame.

Others have already chimed in, but this *used to be* a good resource - you'll have to access it through the web.archive.org pages, but it should help:
