What's this Ross worth?

Hello,
I was browsing CL today and found this bike and am wondering what it's worth. Looks like the seller has asked previously, $250 and $225 for the bike, I've found through Google searches.

Any ideas on what I should look to pay for something like this?

Thanks!

I can't make out the model name in the photo. The answer could be "not much" to "a lot" as Ross built bikes that ranged from bottom of the barrel department store stuff to custom built to order bikes.

From the looks of it, it was formerly a mountain bike and at least a notch or two up from the bottom rung.

It looks like a mid '80s MTB frame that had road wheels and brakes cobbled to it for some reason. If the wheels are straigh and you can ride it might be worth $100.

The VAST majority of Ross bikes, even the supposed mid-range stuff, are department store, heavy bikes. Your odds of getting a custom Tom Kellogg Ross are about the same as scoring a Confente. Even the Ross bikes with the Arabesque parts show inferior workmanship and have a weight penalty to other mid-range bikes. The one pictured is a weird size and almost no 80s MTBs sell for $200+. I'd say $100 is about right for a decent market...and it will likely take time to find a buyer at that size. Someone who doesn't know better, or who is having a hard time finding a large cheap bike, will probably bite.

Best I can tell this bike does not look rideable the large mountain frame with road wheels and brakes looks just dangerouse. So I would say about half of parts value $100 tops.

That's a Mt St Helens frame - one of Ross's lower end MTBs. The best part of that bike is the dogbone stem. $100 is the most that bike should bring and that's if it needs no parts or any work done to it.
